D-Will turns back the clock

“The 6-foot-3, 200-pound Williams posted 31 points on 11-of-18 shooting in nearly 43 minutes of work, dishing out 16 assists to set season highs in both categories. He also reached marks that only his childhood idol accomplished in a Dallas uniform, becoming the first Mav with 30 points and 15 assists in a game since Jason Kidd in 1996. And after patenting his game around Kidd’s growing up, The Colony native reflected on his special night.” – Mavs.com

OK, WHERE THE HELL IS THE REAL DERON WILLIAMS?!?!?! I didn’t think this guy even cared about playing basketball anymore, I figured he just wanted to get paid to call himself a basketball player. The old coach killing D-Will with a full head of hair would’ve never put forth this much effort to help his team edge past the Portland trailblazers, but maybe, just maybe, we are seeing a revitalized Deron Williams. He’s not the bitchy looking asshole from the Brooklyn nets that always had the shape up anymore, he’s now the edgy, head shaved, heavily bearded point guard for the Dallas Mavericks who are currently 8th in the west and are now sitting at .500. Gone are the days from when I was in high school, and me and my buddies would try and formulate a list of the top 5 point guards in the NBA, it was hard to keep Williams off that list, but here he is in Dallas trying his best to not fall off the face of the earth. He has actually help to will this Dallas Mavericks team, along with Dirk, out of its early season slump and have positioned themselves to make a run to the playoffs in the competitive western conference. Williams is shooting 41% from the field this season and is averaging 14ppg, 3 boards, 6 assists and about 1 steal per game in 32 minutes a game this season.
